We currently have a vacancy for an R&D proposal and technical writer to offer his/her services as an expert based either in Athens or Patras, Greece or fully remotely. The appropriate candidate will be an integral part of the bid team and will have the opportunity to be a part of a top-rated team of talented individuals with different expertise working collaboratively on common goals. He/She will be responsible for producing clear, concise, accurate, and compliant responses to Calls for Proposal regarding EU programs (i.e. Erasmus+, Horizon Europe, Interreg etc.) for IT, Engineering and other services. The proposal & technical writer will work across all levels of a proposal (proposal writing, consortium building, methodology, project organisation, etc.) producing critical content.

We are looking for a person who is outstanding in responsiveness, integrity and reliability, with excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills, as well as strong ability to work in teams for supporting R&D projects funded by the European Commission (EC) and other research frameworks.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Identification of funding opportunities for the company and its customers
  • Analysis of EU call requirements
  • Awareness of EU R&I ecosystem priorities and trends 
  • Setting up & managing, coordinating and submitting new proposals in the context of several research funding opportunities in a timely manner
  • Support during the building of the consortium of partners
  • Budget design and analysis
  • Active participation in internal and external brainstorming sessions
  • Idea & product development mainly in the above technology fields
  • Contribution to the overall company product development & research directions

Working experience:

  • At least 2 years of proven experience in proposal writing in research programs such as Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe proposals
  • Experience in EU and national funding instruments is a plus
  • Experience as project manager of EU-funded projects is a plus

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Physics, or Business Management 
  • PhD or Master’s degree is a plus

Professional experience:

  • Ability to manage and control project management responsibilities including project objectives, requirements and constraints
  • Ability to derive technical objectives from application requirements and coordinate local development teams to fulfill those objectives
  • Ability to analyze, interpret as well as communicate data
  • Ability to manage tasks and issues, meet deadlines, follow through on commitments, and take corrective action in a proactive manner where appropriate
  • Excellent written and oral English language communication skills
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and Google tools (GoogleDocs, GoogleSheets, Gmail)
  • Advanced understanding of ICT and emerging technologies, such as AI/ML, edge/cloud computing, big data, distributed ledger,  etc.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Ability to generate research and promote technology transfer and entrepreneurship
  • Knowledge of the state of the art information technologies in the domain of interest (Security/Health/Government)
  • Experience in designing research proposals and coordinating or implementing relevant R&D projects
