EO4EU

Title: AI-augmented ecosystem for Earth Observation data accessibility with Extended reality User Interfaces for Service and data exploitation

Programme: Horizon Europe

Call: Tools to support the uptake and accessibility/exploitability of environmental observation information at European and global level

Topic ID: HORIZON-CL6-2021-GOVERNANCE-01-16

Grant agreement No: 101060784

Brief description

EO4EU aspires to deploy and demonstrate a High Performance-powered Data Ops ecosystem for increased EO data accessibility. It significantly contributes to the emerging need for broadening the range and effect of ML-based services and associated challenges in a holistic manner. The proposed solutions will increase the accessibility, reusability, and exploitability of EO data resources, while significantly contributing to advancing environmental knowledge at the local and EU level.

EO4EU responds to a series of challenges regarding the exploitation of ML capabilities and their contribution in dynamic semantic annotation, learned compression and a hybrid cinematographic – scientific visual representation of EO, engaging virtual reality techniques. Towards achieving innovation, EO4EU will meaningfully combine prominent existing methodologies, proposing innovative services that complement the operational and technical capacity of the existing frameworks, and will develop and thoroughly assess novel tools for EO data accessibility, reusability and exploitability.

Our role

NVCR will be responsible for the deployment of the knowledge graph that will relate different resources and descriptions. It will enable the investigation and mapping of such data and services transparently and efficiently, and will allow the merging of descriptions and ontologies by expressing semantic information.
